Constructed entirely from recycled cast iron and weighing an incredible 20 tonnes, the sculpture was built by Hadcock on location in 1998. Its tiles — some curved, some flat — are textured to resemble Yorkshire paving and limestone terraces, pieced together to create the shape of a crashing wave. Turn it around and you'll find the nuts and bolts of its making still visible on the reverse — raw, honest and utterly unique.
